Prototyping

When a product has several user roles, complex scenarios or dependencies on integrations, interface mockups alone may not be enough. Before development it is important to check how a user will move through the main actions: registration, search, submitting a request, working in a portal or administering the system. Prototyping is what lets you agree the logic of the screens before the team moves to UI design or code.

The work covers page structure, transitions between screens, interface states and the key user scenarios. For simple tasks a static prototype is enough to fix the structure and the order of interaction. For more complex products we create an interactive prototype with clickable transitions, to check navigation, the sequence of actions and any gaps in the logic.

The result is an agreed prototype that can serve as the basis for UI design, a development estimate or a clarified specification. The team gets a clear model of the future product without unnecessary assumptions at the implementation stage. Rework drops, inconsistencies surface earlier, and communication between product, design and development gets simpler.

The work starts with an analysis of the task, the existing materials, the user roles and the main scenarios. From there come the screen structure, a description of the transitions and prototypes at an agreed level of detail. After review with the team we make corrections, record the decisions and clarify the contested parts of the logic.

The next step after prototyping can be UX/UI design, preparing a specification or estimating the scope of development. Where gaps in the requirements come to light during the work, they are raised separately for clarification with the team. The agreed prototype becomes a working artefact for designers, developers, analysts and the product owner.
